São Paulo – The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management should send representatives to Brazil in March to attract Brazilian students. The teaching institution, which offers from fast courses to graduate and postgraduate courses in hotel management, should participate in the 16th Student Salon, to take place in March, in six Brazilian capitals.
According to Samir Zaveri, the international director at BMI, a multinational headquartered in London, which promotes the event, The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management should participate in the salons in São Paulo, to take place from March 7th and 8th, Curitiba, on March 12th, and Rio de Janeiro, on March 10th. The school is still evaluating the possibility of participating in the event in Salvador, Bahia, on the 15th.
Apart from these four Brazilian capitals, Porto Alegre should also house the salon, on March 17th, and Florianópolis, on March 19th. In these capitals, however, the school from the Emirates should not participate. Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management belongs to Jumeirah Group, the same group that owns the famous Burj Al Arab, and this should be, according to Zaveri, the first time that the school participates in an event for promotion in Latin America.
The great interest that Brazilians have been showing in Dubai, according to the international director at BMI, was one of the reasons for the school from the Emirates to decide to participate in the salon. "There are also direct flights by Emirates between Brazil and Dubai, and many companies in Brazil are working there," said Zaveri, adding that, as a factor for attraction of the school is the great demand of Brazilians for study abroad.
The Student Salon works as a great fair, where teaching institutions from abroad and from Brazil – mostly from abroad – show their courses to Brazilian students. The offers go from English courses, technical courses and internships in other countries to MBAs and doctorates. The Salon should include the schools themselves and also agencies that promote exchange courses. There are also services, like the possibility of getting an international student card and researching airfares.
In this edition of the salon, the highlight, according to Zaveri, should be Canada, which should be represented by 60 teaching institutions. Other countries included are Australia, Ireland, the United States, England, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Australia, China, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Argentina, Colombia, Switzerland and Japan. Last year, the salon received 51,000 students. This year, the expectation is to receive 55,000. To enter the event for free, all you have to do is take invitations published in newspapers or magazines, or print one on site www.salaodoestudante.com.br.
