São Paulo – The world’s largest and tallest observation wheel will be opened in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, on October 21. At 250 meters, Ain Dubai is almost twice the height of the British London Eye; it has 48 air-conditioned cabins with a 360-degree view of the emirate’s skyline. Ticket sales for the attraction are already open on the Ain Dubai website, with prices starting at AED 130 (about USD 35 at the current rate).
The observation wheel will offer 19 different experiences, from sky-high dinners to exclusive celebration and corporate packages, and tailored events. Ain Dubai is located on Bluewaters Island and will open from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm GST. The sunset time is indicated in the ticket purchase, usually between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
Eleven thousand tonnes of steel were used to build it, double the amount used in the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The wheel can carry a maximum capacity of 1,750 people. The spokes connected to the hub of the wheel are 126 meters long.
Each one of the 48 cabins is larger than two double-decker buses. There are three types of cabins. Observation cabins, social cabins, and private cabins, with experiences ranging from one round, approximately 38 minutes long, to two rounds, about 76 minutes.
The social cabins offer packages with drinks included. Visitors can also purchase a premium cabin ticket and access the Ain Dubai Sky Bar cabins.
The private cabin ticket offers exclusive use of an entire cabin. Celebration packages, including birthdays, engagements, weddings, and corporate events, can be made in this cabin type.
“Ain Dubai offers unique experiences catering to all audiences, including luxurious special event cabins; nightlife and parties; exclusive dining options; cabins for families and customizable romantic experiences for special moments,” Ain Dubai general manager Ronald Drake told the Gulf Business news website.
