São Luís – Economic activity in Brazil rose a seasonally adjusted 0.69% in June from May, the Central Bank of Brazil reported on Monday (15).
The index was up 3.09% on a non-seasonally adjusted basis from June 2021. In the second quarter, activity increased 0.57% over the previous quarter. Compared to the second quarter of 2021, the index was up 2.96%.
Year to date, the IBC-Br economic activity index has reached 2.24%. In the 12 months through June, it grew 2.18%. The IBC-Br is a preview of Brazilian economic activity, but Brazil’s gross domestic product (GDP) is calculated by IBGE, the government’s official statistics agency.
