Brasília – Economic activity was up 0.4% in September in Brazil, based on seasonally adjusted figures. It was the third straight monthly increment in the Brazilian Central Bank’s Economic Activity index (IBC-Br), which was released this Monday (17th). Activity was up 1.5% in July and 0.27% in August, also based on seasonally adjusted data.
Year-on-year in August, the index was down 0.24%. Year-to-date, economic activity was up 0.01% based on seasonally adjusted figures. In the last 12-month period, the IBC was up 0.6%.
The IBC-Br monitors the Brazilian economic performance. The index incorporates data on activity levels across the three sectors of economy: industry, trade and services and agriculture.
