São Paulo – Egypt was the main destination of Brazilian beef exports in March, according to data released by the Association of Brazilian Beef Exporters (Abiec) this Monday (4). The country imported 22,952 tons in the month, against 22,093 bought by China, the second largest market.
In revenues generated, however, the Asian nation took first place with USD 85.41 million, against USD 70.66 million by Egypt, the second place in this aspect.
Other Arab countries appear at the list of the main purchasers of Brazilian beef in March. Saudi Arabia is the highlight, since it just recently resumed purchases of the Brazilian product because of a three-year long embargo.
The Saudis imported slightly more than 3,000 tons in March, worth USD 11.27 million, and appear at the 7th position among the largest buyers, in terms of volume, and in the 8th position in revenues.
Also in the list of largest buyers are the United Arab Emirates – at the 10th position – and Algeria, listed at the 12th position.
