São Paulo – Egyptian Railways Maintenance & Services (ERMAS), a subsidiary of Egyptian National Railways (ENR), announced an international public tender to purchase air tanks for locomotives. The information was disclosed this week by the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in São Paulo.

ENR’s website informs the company has 9,570 kilometers of railways serving 23 provinces in Egypt and transports around 420 million passengers yearly. The company stated it plays an essential role in transporting passengers and cargo in the country, linking production with ports through rail connections.
ERMAS started its operations in April 1997 and functions as a center specializing in maintaining and reconditioning ENR’s rolling stock. The subsidiary works to plan and execute the repair and overhaul work of ENR’s circulating trains.
