São Paulo – Embraer disclosed on Monday (17) that it has delivered 28 commercial jets and 18 executive jets in the third quarter of this year. According to the aircraft producer, its order backlog totalled US$ 16 billion on September 30, when the total number of orders was 248 units.
Of the 28 commercial aircraft delivered in the period, 22 are Embraer 190s and two are Embraer 195s. Among the executive jets, deliveries included eight Phenom 100s, nine Phenom 300s and one Legacy. In 2011, the company has accumulated 122 deliveries: two ERJ145s, one Embraer 170, three Embraer 175s, 50 Embraer 190s, 17 Embraer 195s, 43 light jets and six large jets for executive aviation.
Apart from deliveries, Embraer received new orders in the third quarter of the year. Two Embraer 190s were ordered by North American leasing company Gecas, 10 were ordered by Kenya Airways and five Embraer 195s were purchased by the German Lufthansa. In October, Gecas ordered six Embraer 190 jets. This purchase, however, will be included in the company’s next results.
Also in early October, Chinese company Misheng Financial Leasing purchased 13 Legacy 650 jets (for executive aviation). The company had already signed a memorandum of understanding to buy 20 executive jets in Brazilian aircraft maker’s entire line in the sector.
