São Paulo – The Brazilian aircraft manufacturing company delivered 25 commercial jets and 23 executive jets in the second quarter of the year, according to a statement issued by the company on this Monday (11th). The sales volume is lower than in the same period of last year. From April to June 2010, Embraer delivered 29 commercial aircraft and 40 executive ones.
Out of the 25 commercial jets delivered, only two are EMB-145s. All others are models of the E-Jet family (Embraer 175, 190 and 195). During the period, three companies started flying models in this line, the Austrian People’s Viennaline, Air Astana, from Kazakhstan, and Bulgaria Air.
Aside from the aircraft delivered, the company closed the sale of 62 E-jets in the first half of the year. The amount, however, may still increase, because Embraer is waiting for the completion of documents concerning negotiations made at the Feira Paris Air Show, in June. As of June 30th, the company’s firm order backlog stood at US$ 15.8 billion, with 261 units ordered.
While announcing its 2010 results, in March, Embraer disclosed a forecast about the company’s performance in 2011. On the occasion, the company intended to deliver 220 commercial and executive aircraft and earn US$ 5.6 billion in net revenues.
