São Paulo – Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer should participate in the Avex International Show, to take place from November 7th to 10th, in Sharm El Sheikh, in Egypt. The company should show its line of executive jets, which are already exported to the region. Apart from being an exhibitor, Embraer should also sponsor the event. This information was confirmed by an international spokesperson for the company.
According to a press statement published on the Avex site, the aviation market has been growing much in Egypt and region. The Embraer Marketing vice president for the Middle East and Africa, Mathieu Duquesnoy, said, in the statement, that company participation at the fair shows it is following the development of the Arab market.
“This is an excellent opportunity for Embraer to reinforce its presence in the Africa and Middle East region and get closer to its customers,” said the executive, in a press statement. In Egypt, the Brazilian company already has EgyptAir as a client, with over 10 aircraft delivered.
According to Duquesnoy, Embraer sees both Africa and the Middle East as presenting tremendous opportunities. “Intra Middle East routes were one of the few growing markets last year. It’s the same in Africa, where we won several new customers such as LAM and Gulf Air,” he stated.
In the event’s last edition, held in 2008, Embraer took its Legacy 600 executive jet and the commercial aircraft Embraer 190 to the fair. A total of 17 units of the Legacy 600 have already been sold to the region. With regard to executive aviation, the Brazilian company also received orders for the Lineage 1000 jets, which are large-sized, for the Phenom 100 and 300, which are small, and for the Legacy 450 and 500 models.
The fair, held at the Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, will count on over 100 exhibitors and should receive visitors from the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and European countries. The Sharm El Sheikh Resort is located in the south of the Sinai Peninsula, by the Red Sea, and is a highly sought tourist destination.
