São Paulo – the Brazilian state-owned aircraft manufacturer Embraer delivered 96 aircraft up until late June this year. According to information supplied by the company, from that total, 56 were delivered in the second quarter of this year. Among the aircraft, 35 are in the commercial aviation segment, 10 in executive aviation, and 2 in defence aviation. In Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, a Lineage 1000 executive jet was delivered to HE Aamer Abdul Jalil Al Fahim.
Aircraft by the Brazilian manufacturer were also delivered to companies in Austria, Australia, Germany and United States, as well as to regional Brazilian airlines Trip Linhas Aéreas and Passaredo Linhas Aéreas, and to the Brazilian Air Force (FAB). As of late June, the company’s firm order backlog totalled US$ 19.8 billion.
The Brazilian company also signed important contacts in the second quarter of this year. One of the deals was closed with KLM Cityhopper, the local subsidiary of KLM, from the Netherlands, for seven firm orders of the Embraer 190 jet. The other contract was signed with Austral Líneas Aéreas, from Argentina, for the sale of 20 Embraer 120 jets. Furthermore, an Embraer 175 executive jet was sold to Fuji Dream Airlines, owned by the Japanese company Suzuyo.
Also in the defence field, the company signed two important contracts in April, one with the FAB for development and manufacturing of KC-390 military transport aircraft, and the other for modernization of 12 jets of the Brazilian Navy, being nine single-seat AF-1 models and three two-seat AF-1A models.
Also in the first quarter, Embraer reached a few milestones. The global fleet of the ERJ 145 platform surpassed 15 million flight hours. The 1,100th aircraft of the same family was also delivered, namely a Legacy 600 jet. The company’s firm order backlog totalled 340 by late June, and overall orders totalled 1,772. The company is headquartered in the interior of the state of São Paulo and leads the segment of commercial jets with up to 120 seats.
