São Paulo – The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer saw its losses shrink considerably in quarter three this year, to BRL 11.4 million (USD 3.5 million at the current exchange rate) from BRL 387.7 million (USD 120.9 million) in Q3 2015. Net revenue was up 7% to BRL 4.9 billion (USD 1.5 billion).
According to Embraer, revenue increased as a result of the delivery of 29 airliners and 25 private jets, including 13 small and 12 large ones. Defense and security revenue was up 9%. Year-to-date through September, Embraer saw BRL 14.7 billion (USD 4.5 billion) in net revenue, up 20% from the year-ago period. The company had a firm order backlog of USD 21.4 billion.
