São Paulo – Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer delivered this week the first Embraer 170 jet aeroplane to Australian company Virgin Blue Airlines. The airline has placed six firm orders for aircraft, and another 14 for another model, the Embraer 190. The orders were placed in November last year.
The Virgin Blue Embraer 170 jets will have 78 seats, and the Embraer 190s will have 104 seats. The Australian company owns a 30% share of the market in its country, operates a fleet of 53 aircraft, and flies to 23 domestic destinations and 6 international ones.
