São Paulo – The Brazilian state-owned aircraft manufacturer Embraer is taking part in the Dubai Air Show, a trade fair for the aviation industry due November 15th to 19th in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. The company is going to showcase its entire line of commercial and executive jets, including the Lineage 1000 and Legacy 600 models, which are already present in the Arab country.
One of the new models that Embraer is taking to the fair is the Phenom 100 jet, with capacity for up to eight people. The entry-level aircraft is geared towards the global air taxi market. On board, there is a pantry, a private bathroom, and satellite-based communication and entertainment.
With regard to commercial jets, the company is going to promote the ERJ 145, with capacity for 37 to 50 seats, and the Embraer 170/190 family of E-Jets, with capacity ranging from 70 to 122 seats. These aircraft, according to the company, offer companies greater flexibility, low fuel consumption and lower emission of pollutants. Approximately 900 jets in the ERJ 145 family are currently operating worldwide, and more than 600 E-Jets have been delivered, 40 of which have gone to the Middle East.
In the case of the Legacy 600 model, for example, over 20 units are operating in the Arab countries. The Lineage 1000, Embraer’s largest executive jet, was delivered last year to a client from Abu Dhabi, the capital of the Emirates. According to the company, the presence of these jets in the country is proof of the region’s importance to the industry.
Embraer is the leading manufacturer of commercial jets with up to 120 seats, and one of the largest exporting companies in Brazil. The company also provides support and after-sales services to clients around the world. As of September, Embraer had a firm order backlog of US$ 18.6 billion.
The Dubai Air Show, held in the Dubai International Airport, should feature roughly 900 exhibitors from 50 different countries and is expecting 50,000 visitors. According to information from the fair’s website, aircraft maker Airbus forecasts growth of 6.6% in passenger turnover in the Middle East in the next decade. The region’s aviation industry has the highest growth rate in the world.
The aircraft fleet operating in the region should nearly triple in size by 2028. According to Boeing, another aircraft manufacturing company, the Middle Eastern market, which ranks among the strongest in the world, should purchase over 1,700 commercial jets, at a combined price of more than US$ 300 billion.
