Rio de Janeiro – The world’s third-largest planemaker, Brazil’s Embraer, will receive a loan of BRL 1.09 billion (USD 200 million) to produce commercial aircraft for export. The financing was approved by state development bank BNDES, according to a statement released by the development bank on Tuesday (25). The loan comes from the Exim Pre-shipment financing line, aimed at exporters.
The funds will be used to meet the delivery schedule already agreed with importers in various countries. The company, a leader in manufacturing commercial jets with up to 150 seats, expects to close 2025 with 77 to 85 commercial jets delivered. Last year, the number was 73, and in 2023 it was 64. Including commercial and defense and security aircraft, there were 206 deliveries in 2024 and 181 in 2023.
Record orders
According to Embraer’s CEO, Francisco Gomes Neto, the company is experiencing a record volume of orders and a “solid sales pace.” “We are making significant investments to meet the growing demand for our products, and the BNDES financing is essential to support initiatives aimed at increasing production capacity and speeding up deliveries in the coming years,” he said.
