São Paulo – The Brazilian aircraft manufacturing company Embraer will promote its first Conference for Embraer Operators in the Middle East, in Amman, the Jordanian capital. The event began on Sunday and will end today (10). The meeting is intended to find customized solutions for improving support and lowering costs relating to commercial jets operating in the region.
The forum comprises 40 representatives of seven Embraer clients in the region, 25 of the company’s employees, and 20 representatives of seven local suppliers. During the event, Embraer will promote the sharing of experiences among participants, and discussion regarding new ways of managing cost maintenance and jet operation costs.
“We have conquered new clients over the last few years and many of them operate in regions Embraer had never entered before,” says Luiz Hamilton Lima, the Commercial Aviation Support and Services director with Embraer, in a press statement issued by the company. “This first regional meeting enables all our clients to share ideas openly. It is an excellent opportunity for our new clients, who operate under high temperatures and harsh weather, may learn from more experienced operators,” he said.
There is a 50-plus fleet of Embraer E-Jets in the region, operated by eight clients based in six Arab countries: EgyptAir (Egypt), Gulf Air (Bahrain), Nasair, Saudi Airlines and Saudi Aramco (Saudi Arabia), Oman Air (Oman), Petro Air (Libya) e Royal Jordanian (Jordan). The line includes four commercial jets with capacity ranging from 70 to 122 seats.
Material was presented on the program “Operational Improvements for Harsh Weather Conditions,” a project launched by Embraer in 2010 and specifically targeted at the Middle East. The project aims to increase the dependability of aircraft and lower the costs of fleets operating under such conditions. To that end, Embraer tackled different aspects of the jets’ operation under unfavourable weather in the short, medium and long term.
