São Paulo – The Brazilian aircraft manufacturing company Embraer disclosed this Thursday (28th) that it posted a net profit of 153.8 million reals (US$ 99.5 million) in the second quarter of the year, a 51% increase over the same period of last year. In comparison with the first three months of 2011, there was a decline of 11.76%. In the first half, the company posted a profit of 328.1 million reals (US$ 212.1 million).
Net revenues reached 2.17 billion reals (US$ 1.4 billion) in the second half, as against 2.43 billion reals (US$ 1.57 billion) in the same period of 2010. In the first six months of 2011, revenues reached 3.92 billion reals (US$ 2.53 billion).
According to the company, 25 commercial aircraft and 23 executive jets were delivered from April to June. During the first half, 45 commercial aircraft and 31 executive ones left the factory.
The company also informs that it received 62 new orders for commercial jets since the beginning of the year, which is a sign of the industry’s recovery.
