São Paulo – The Arabs are among the main markets that are targets for the Export Plastic Program for the 2010 and 2011 biennium. The project is developed by the National Plastics Institute (INP) in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and the target is to promote sector products abroad.
The project elected sectors it plans to promote and which are the destinations that most interest each one. The areas chosen were retail, packaging, food and beverages, agribusiness and chemicals. Retail contemplates finished plastic products and the organizers of Export Plastic want to take them to the Emirates, Germany, Spain, France, Portugal, South Africa, Colombia, Canada, the United States and Panama.
The countries were selected by the Market Intelligence department at the Apex-Brasil. Sector exporters will be granted information about the business environment in these nations, potential products, non-tariff barriers, values and export and import variations. With this intelligence work, the Export Plastic Program may provide greater support to exporters.
The sector plans to reach total exports of US$ 2.2 billion. The international demand for transformed plastics is in great expansion, according to information supplied by the INP.
