São Paulo – A delegation from the United Arab Emirates, a country in the Gulf, is going to participate in Mercopar, the largest industrial outsourcing and innovation fair in Latin America, held in October in the city of Caxias do Sul, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The exhibition is attended by businessmen, buyers, sellers, representatives and distributors in the areas of industrial automation, rubber, electric and electronic appliances, metal-mechanic, plastic, industrial services, and transport and storage of materials.
This year, the fair will feature 500 exhibitors from Brazil and 105 from India, which will be a partner in this year’s edition. In addition to importers from the United Arab Emirates, there will also be delegations from Germany, Argentina, South Africa, China and the Netherlands. Visitors seek to exchange knowledge, identify new investment opportunities and partners, and evaluate competing products and technologies.
Last year, the fair received 32,000 visitors and generated 50 million reals (US$ 27 million) in business deals. Each exhibitor made an average of 84 potential contacts, according to a survey conducted by the event’s organisers. The figures are expected to rise this year, as the number of exhibitors should be 11% higher than in the last edition. The fair is held in Rio Grande do Sul, a Brazilian state that enjoys a privileged status among Mercosur countries.
The Mercopar will run from October 20th to 23rd. The fair is promoted by the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) and by Hannover Fairs Sulamérica, which belongs to the Deutsche Messe AG group. The fair, which had its first edition in 1992, occupies all of the pavilions of the Festa da Uva exhibition hall. The Caxias do Sul region, in which the fair is promoted, is an important mechanical industry hub.
