São Paulo – The fourth edition of the World Future Energy Summit will be held from January 17th to 20th in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The event will address topics such as biofuels, solar energy, wind energy, energy storage, sustainable buildings, green cities, international future energy policies, smart networks, among others.
According to the organizers of the summit, it will be attended by 150 lecturers and 3,000 high-level delegates. Lecturers will include the Egyptian minister of Electricity and Energy, Hassan Younes, the minister of Economy, Innovation and Development of Portugal, José Antônio Vieira da Silva, the CEO for Renewable Energy at Siemens, Rene Umlauft, and the CEO of the International Energy Agency, Nobuo Tanaka, among other ministers, heads of state and executives.
Brazil will also be represented at the event, by University of Campinas professor and researcher Arnaldo Walter, who will take part in the biofuels discussion panel.
In 2010, the summit received nearly 25,000 visitors from 148 countries. The main industries represented were those of automobiles, civil construction, finance, consultancy, public services, real estate, and research and development.
