Brasília – Formal jobs (registered, on-the-books) continue to rise in Brazil. The number of new jobs created this year, from January to September, is the highest since records began in 1992. The total of new jobs has reached 1,666,188, an increase of 7.16% over the same period last year.
The Ministry of Labor reports that the sector that created the most jobs was manufacturing, a total of 555,656, followed by services, agriculture and commerce.
The region where the most jobs were created was the Southeast, 950,471, followed by the South and Northeast.
In September, a total of 199,742 jobs were created, up 0.81% over August. That was the most jobs created in September ever.
