São Paulo – Enrolment for participation in Khartoum International Fair is already open. The event includes several sectors and takes place in the capital of Sudan, from January 25th to February 1st, 2012, and should count on a 52 square metre stand organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, with space for six Brazilian companies.
The main opportunities at the fair are in the areas of agricultural machinery, food, electronic products, building material and medical-hospital products. "Sudan has great development needs. This generates demand for capital goods, mainly in agricultural machinery,” pointed out Rodrigo Solano, the Market and Business Manager at the Arab Brazilian Chamber.
"Sudan has been attracting attention and investment from other Arab countries, like Saudi Arabia. Businessmen from Sudan have already also noticed that Brazil is a potential supplier,” added the executive. To strengthen the country’s participation in the fair, the Arab Brazilian Chamber should invite local businessmen who operate in the area of the exhibitors to visit the Brazilian stand.
Apart from the fair, the Brazilian participants will also have a parallel event agenda, organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber. The meetings will be scheduled according to the sectors of the companies enrolled. “The objective is to bring Brazilian businessmen and local decision makers together to aid in business,” said Solano. Before the fair, on January 18th, the organisation should promote a preparatory meeting in which the participants may clarify doubts about the exhibition.
Investment for participation in Khartoum International Fair is R$ 3,500 (US$ 2,000). From January to October 2011, Brazil exported the equivalent to US$ 92.5 million in products to Sudan. The main products sold were sugar, machinery, grain and vehicles.
