São Paulo – The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry should held local businessmen to break into markets they regard as promising, such as Brazil, Argentina, South Korea, the United States, South Africa, and other African countries. The information was released this Wednesday (12th) by the DCCI.
The action originated from requests made by the businessmen themselves, who attended a forum in Hamburg, Germany, and called on the Chamber to reach out to these countries. Aside from promoting business by Dubai-based companies in Brazil, the DCCI plans on setting up an office in São Paulo.
“The president and CEO of the Dubai Chamber [Hamad Buamim] informed that the Chamber continues its expansion strategy to explore new markets for its members, and enhance the competitiveness of Dubai’s business community in the overseas markets. He added that the next step for the Chamber is the opening of representative offices in China, São Paulo, Brazil and a few African markets as these offer ample opportunities for Dubai businesses to expand their global trade activities,” as per a communiqué from the DCCI.
According to the document, Ibrahim Al Janahi, deputy CEO of the Jebel Ali Free Zone, was responsible for stressing the DCCI’s role in promoting access of local companies to promising markets. He proposed for the DCCI to help companies enter into countries such as South Korea, Brazil, Argentina, United States and Turkey, “which are industrialized nations offering ample investment opportunities.”
