São Paulo – After announcing that it will fly directly to Brazil in 2013, Etihad Airways, from the United Arab Emirates, has appointed on Wednesday (13) the company’s general manager for Brazil. It will be Juan Santos, the executive who established Etihad operations in Japan. Before that, he worked for the airline of the Philippines. The airline will inaugurate its flight between Abu Dhabi and São Paulo on June 1st, 2013.
"I’m looking forward to getting the Sao Paulo operations up and running and playing an instrumental role in what I’m sure will be a critically important and successful market for Etihad Airways, our home Abu Dhabi and the entire UAE," said Santos, in an Etihad press statement.
The commercial director at Etihad, Peter Baumgartner, stated that the choice of a general manager is the next step towards implementation of the flight to Brazil after announcing the start of operations in the country.
