Brasília – The inflow of dollars into Brazil was US$ 12.371 billion positive in January, up to last Friday (28), according to figures disclosed today (2) by the Brazilian Central Bank. This is the best result since September last year (US$ 13.726 billion), when the inflow of dollars into the country peaked due to the Petrobras capital increase. The full figures for the exchange flow in January, with the balance up to the 31st, should be disclosed on Wednesday (9).
The great inflow of funds into the country came mostly in the financial sector (investment in shares and transfer of profits and dividends, among other operations), which registered a positive balance of US$ 11.622 billion.
In January, up to the 28th, the trade flow (exports minus imports) presented a surplus of US$ 750 million.
The Central Bank also informed that its dollar purchases on the spot market increased foreign currency reserves by US$ 7.286 billion in January, up to the 28th.
