Brasília – The Brazil Commodities Index (IC-Br), calculated by the Central Bank (BC), recorded growth of 2.27% in July in comparison with the previous month. In the 12 months ending in July, the growth was 1.43%. In the year, there was reduction of 0.22%.
The IC-Br is calculated based on the price variation of exported Brazilian primary products and commodities, in Brazilian reals. The BC studies products that are relevant to price dynamics for Brazilian consumers.
In July, energy commodities (oil, natural gas and coal) recorded the greatest expansion, 4.38%, followed by metals (aluminium, iron ore, copper, tin, zinc, lead and nickel), with 2.79%. Agricultural commodities (beef and pork, cotton, soy, wheat, sugar, maize, coffee and rice) recorded growth of 1.70%.
