Brasília – The National Confederation of Industry (CNI) reported this Friday (14th) that Brazilian exports are reacting gradually to the devaluation of the real. However, according to CNI, this reaction is not yet significant.
The assessment was made based on the exports coefficient, which, in Q2, in comparison to this year’s Q1, increased 0.6 percentage point. The coefficient measures, within the environment of the Brazilian industrial output, the amount that is exported.
The data is part of the survey Coefficients of Trade Liberalization, done by CNI in a partnership with the Foreign Trade Studies Centre Foundation (Funcex).
According to the survey, the incentive to exports, represented by the real depreciation, doesn’t mean an automatic increase of sales abroad. “The increase of the volume exported takes time due to the difficulties inherent to the entrance in new markets”, says the survey.
