Extreme poverty decreased by half in Brazil
A report by the Brazilian federal government and the United Nations informs that the percentage of the population in that condition fell from 8.8% in 1990 to 4.2% in 2005. This, according to the survey, shows that the country has attained one of the Millennium Development Goals before the deadline, which is 2015.
