Brasília – With the weak economic activity, tax collection and federal contributions continues to decline. In September, tax collection registered BRL 95.239 billion (USD 24.44 billion), with the year-to-date results registering BRL 901.053 billion (USD 231.28 billion), reported this Friday the Federal Revenue. In comparison to September 2014, there was a decline of 4.12%, already inflation-adjusted as measured by the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA). From January to September, there was a decline of 3.72% in tax collection.
According to the Federal Revenue, the decline occurred despite extraordinary revenues of BRL 13.1 billion (USD 3.36 billion). From this total, BRL 4.6 billion (USD 1.18 billion) came from assets transfer between companies, BRL 1 billion (USD 256 million) of remittances abroad due to disposal of assets and BRL 7.5 billion (USD 1.92 billion) in the recovery of past-due debts due to fiscal legal actions by the tax administration.
