Brasília – After 19 consecutive downward revisions, the projection of Brazilian financial institutions for the country’s economic growth, this time, has been slightly revised upward. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth estimate, i.e. the sum of all goods and services produced in the country, has increased from 0.24% to 0.24% to 0.28%. The estimate for 2015 has been maintained at 1%. The projections are released in a weekly poll of financial institutions covering the main economic indicators.
The industrial output decline estimate is up from 2.14% to 2.16% in 2014. Next year, industry is expected to rebound and grow by 1.3%, as against last week’s 1.4% forecast. The US dollar price projection has remained at 2.40 Brazilian reais, for this year, and at 2.50 reais for 2015.
