São Paulo – Foreign tourists spent US$ 402 million in Brazil during the month of January, according to information from the Brazilian Central Bank. The value is a record for months of January, and represents an increase in 17.88% over the same month last year.
The aim for the entire year is of US$ 6.3 billion. According to the Research director at the Brazilian Tourism Institute (Embratur), José Francisco de Salles Lopes, the result shows the best tourism summer in history. The information is from the Embratur press advisory.
