São Paulo – Brazil received, last year, around 50,000 foreigners for health treatments, according to figures supplied by the Ministry of Tourism. This figure represented 65% growth over the total visiting the country in 2004. Half of these people came to the country for plastic surgery in clinics in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo (in the Southeast) and the Northeast.
