São Paulo – A survey conducted by the Foundation Institute for Economic Research (Fipe, in the Portuguese acronym) shows 95.4% of foreign tourists who have been to Brazil want to visit the country again. The survey was conducted by request of the Ministry of Tourism and the Brazilian Tourism Institute (Embratur), covered 39,000 foreigners at 16 international airports.
The “Survey of International Demand in Brazil” was requested to gather data for public policymaking, to help set strategies to promote the country as a tourist destination abroad, and to serve as a reference for decision-making by tourism industry entrepreneurs.
The survey also shows that while the leisure tourism segment remained stagnant, business tourism grew by 9.8%, having generated an inflow of 1.4 million visitors out of a total of 5.4 million foreigners who visited Brazil last year.
