Brasília – The National Productive Development Forum, still in a stage of discussion and seeking to build consensus in order to present proposals to the coalition in Congress, defined in a meeting this Tuesday (4) its three main targets: infrastructure, exports and business environment. The forum was announced two weeks ago to unlock the country’s productive sectors and includes representatives from the government, businesses and workers.
“With respect to improvement in exports, a topic suggested by CNI [National Confederation of Industry] is the regulation of the Export Processing Zones [ZPEs]”, said the minister of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services, Marcos Pereira. According to him, the idea is to reduce the fiscal burden. Marcos Pereira said that regarding measures to improve business environment, one of the goals is to reassess restrictions on land purchases by foreigners. “What we intend to do is to remove these restrictions to facilitate these sales”. The group also plans to discuss the reviewing of the bidding law.
