São Paulo – Investment opportunities in the United Arab Emirates are the theme of the Brazil Economic Forum – United Arab Emirates, to take place on Friday (1), in São Paulo. The event is organized by the Foreign Ministry of Brazil, the Embassy of Brazil in the Emirates and the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
At the event, Sultan Al Mansoori, minister of Economy of the Emirates, should head a delegation to Brazil with businessmen from large investment groups and important industrial groups in his country. He will speak in the seminar.
Among the companies and agencies to participate in the event are Mubadala (investment, financial services and tourism), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sharjah, the Fujairah Free Zone Authority, the legal department of Dubai Aluminium, representatives of the government of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, Aldahra Holding (agribusiness) and Serkal Group (tourism, real estate, hospitality and machinery), among others.
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president of Amzaan Investments, should also participate in the delegation from the Emirates. In Brazil, Al Nahyan is interested in speaking to companies in the renewable energy, water procurement and export, as well as technology and innovation.
“The idea of the event is to bring Brazil and the Emirates closer,” said Michel Alaby, CEO at the Arab Brazilian Chamber. At the forum, Arab companies will view presentations about Brazil.
One of the speakers on the Brazilian side will be Antônio Corrêa de Lacerda, a doctor in Economic Science from the University of Campinas and professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP). “He will speak about the Brazilian economy, about the sectors with greatest profitability, where foreign capital is turning, growth of GDP, per capita income and the challenges to come, like the World Cup and the Olympics,” said Alaby.
According to the CEO at the Arab Brazilian Chamber, the visit is part of some meetings that are taking place worldwide, including the United States, where it has already taken place, and Chile, to where the event will head after Brazil. Alaby should also speak at the event. The opening of the forum will be the responsibility of Arab Brazilian Chamber president Marcelo Sallum.
The event is open only to guests and it is not possible to register on the date of the forum. Among the selected audience will be exporters, financial institutions, investment consultants and companies interested in internationalisation in the Arab countries.
After the forum, there will be a lunch in which those present will be able to work on networking.
