São Paulo – Brazilian franchises are optimistic regarding their financial performance in early 2011. According to a study disclosed on Friday (11) by the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF), expectations are for 32.7% greater revenues in the first quarter of this year as against the same period last year.
The research, developed in partnership with the Administration Institute Foundation (FIA) and Felisoni Consultancy, also shows the performance of the last quarter of 2010. According to the study, there was growth of 33.9% in revenues in the period, as against the same months in 2009. The study is based on information by 48 franchise chains in the country.
Regarding the number of shops, there was growth of 7.1% in the fourth quarter of 2010 as against the same period in the previous year. For the first quarter of this year, the sector expects growth of 5.3% in the number of shops, according to ABF.
