Rio de Janeiro – Recession in Brazil caused consumption of oil products to decline by 4.5% in 2016 from 2015. It was the second year-on-year drop – consumption had dropped by 1.9% in 2015 from 2014. The numbers were made public this Thursday (16) by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).
ANP said that last year, fuel sales in Brazil reached 135.436 billion liters, down from 141.811 billion liters in 2015. Hydrated ethanol consumption slid the most in 2016, by 18.3%, going from 17.863 billion liters in 2015 to 14.586 billion liters last year.
