Porto Alegre – Producers of furniture components from southern Brazil started a mission to the United States and Canada today (30). They are going to meet potential buyers. The businessmen should be in North America up to September 11.
This activity is an initiative of the SebraExport, a project for incentives to export that is supported by the Rio Grande do Sul state Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) which contributed by identifying, potential international customers for the domestic industry.
With the inclusion of these two new markets, the estimate is that the 22 companies participating in the project should end the year with export of US$ 1 million.
According to the superintendent director of the Rio Grande do Sul state Sebrae, Deomedes Talini, the United States and Canada were chosen due to the strong presence of sector industries and as they are traditional importers of this kind of product.
"As entry of products from the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul is still very small, the presentation will serve to show that items produced in Brazil have different design, quality, and, especially, competitive prices," pointed out Talini.
The companies participating in the mission are Metalsinos (from São Leopoldo), ProCad (from Bento Gonçalves), Cinex, Obispa, Tecbril, and Voltru, from Caxias do Sul.
Among the products to be presented are metal and plastic knobs, metals for wardrobes and cupboards, aluminium and wooden doors and profiles, wheels, veneers, paints, and software for the furniture industry.
