São Paulo – The dollar ended this Tuesday (31) going up 0.66% to BRL 3.75, after an appreciation of 0.33% the day before. The North American currency ended July with a devaluation of 3.16% in the month, which hadn’t occurred since January, when it dropped 4.05%. Year-to-date, however, the dollar has gone up 13.29%.
Ibovespa, the main index of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) slid 1.31% this Tuesday to 79,220 points. In July, the stock market has gone up 9%.
The drop in the last trading day was caused by the shares of large companies, with Itaú going down 3.98%, Bradesco declining 2.28% and Petrobras falling 0.9%.
