Brasília – The forecast by financial institutions for the decline of the economy this year was adjusted for the tenth consecutive time. Currently, the forecast for the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the sum of all goods and services produced in the country, was revised down from 3.60% to 3.66%.
For 2017, the forecast for the growth of the GDP was revised down from the second time in a row and went from 0.44% to 0.35%. The estimations are part of the Bulletin Focus released weekly by the Brazilian Central Bank (BC), based in forecasts by financial institutions on the main economic indexes.
The financial institutions also estimate that the inflation rate, as measured by the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA), will end the year at 7.31%. Last week, the forecast stood at 7.43%. For 2017, the forecast remains at 6% for the seventh consecutive week.
