Brasília – The projection of financial institutions for Brazilian economic growth, this year, remains in a downward spiral. For the 13th consecutive time, the estimate for the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), i.e. the sum of all goods and services produced in the country, has been revised down. This time, the projection moved down from 0.79% to 0.70%. For 2015, the growth of 1.2% has been maintained, for the second consecutive week. These projections are part of the Focus bulletin, the result of a weekly poll of financial institutions conducted by the Brazilian Central Bank (BC).
As regards industrial output, the downturn projection remains at 1.76%. For next year, the financial institutions expect the industrial output to rebound, with a growth estimate of 1.70%. According to the Extended Consumer Price Index (IPCA), the estimate was adjusted from 6.25% to 6.27%, this year, and from 6.25% to 6.28%, in 2015.
