São Paulo – The Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade has extended up to Thursday (14) enrolment for participation in a trade delegation to North Africa to be promoted from December 1st to 5th. Originally, enrolment was programmed to end on Tuesday (12). The delegation should visit Algiers, in Algeria, and Casablanca, in Morocco.
Businessmen should enrol through email apexbrasil@apexbrasil.com.br. Participants must cover the travel and hospitality costs. The structure for business roundtables and transport to the event sites will be offered by the organizers. The delegation is organized by the MDIC and by the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex), with the support of the Itamaraty, the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and the National Confederation of Industries (CNI).
According to a press statement by the MDIC, the executive secretary at the ministry, Ricardo Schaefer, to head the delegation, met on Tuesday, in Brasília, with representatives of companies to participate in the programme.
“Algeria and Morocco are two members who are growing much,” said Schaefer, in a press statement. “Algeria has been expanding its imports by 3.5% a year and Morocco, by almost 9%, on average. These are markets in which Brazil has participation focussed on sugar, soy oil and maize. But there is great potential for exports of greater value-added products like machinery and equipment,” he added.
