São Paulo – For the president of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Peruvian congress, Gustavo Pacheco, the summit between Arab and South American countries, to begin on Tuesday, in Brazilian capital Brasília, will help Peru establish mechanisms for cooperation with the Arab countries with the objective of increasing bilateral trade between the country and that region of the world.
Apart from that, according to Pacheco, the president of Peru, Alejandro Toledo, may take advantage of the occasion to seek, among his Arab colleagues, support to the Peruvian candidacy to a non-permanent position as a member of the United Nations (UN) Security Council.
The conference, whose objective is the promotion of greater integration between the Arabs and South Americans, will be dedicated to themes like trade, investment, commercial agreements and scientific, technological and cultural exchange.
