Brasília – The 2015/2016 Brazilian grain harvest is expected to reach between 208.6 million to 212.9 million tons, with a variation that could go up to 2.1% (4,384 tons) beyond the 2014/2015 crop, which registered 208.5 million, reported the grain harvest monitoring bulletin released this Tuesday (10th) by the National Supply Company (Conab).
By the estimation, soy increased even more its share in the harvest and could reach 102.8 million tons in comparison to the previous crop, which produced 96.2 million tons of the product. The planted area is estimated between 57.9 million to 58.9 million hectares, an increase of 1.6% over the 2014/2015 crop, which registered 58 million hectares. This increase occurred also because of soy.
The data survey was done between October 18 and 24th, with information being gathered by field work on planted area, estimated production and productivity average, technological package used by the producers and other variables.
