São Paulo – Grains production in Brazil should increase by almost 60 tons in ten years, according to estimates from the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, and the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa). The country should go from a crop of 200.7 million tons in 2014/2015 to 259.7 million tons by 2024/2025.
The agribusiness products whose output should increase the most are soy, wheat, poultry, pork, sugar, cotton, sugarcane, apple, melon and wood pulp. Meats production (beef, poultry and pork) should be up 7.9 million tons, or 30.7%. Total planted area (including grains and other cultures) should increase from 71 million to 82 million hectares.
