São Paulo – The fourth arrival and departure terminal at São Paulo International Airport, in Guarulhos, started operating on Wednesday (8). The new space is turned specifically to low-cost flights offered by airline Webjet, which operates solely on the Brazilian territory and serves 18 destinations.
The new terminal covers an area of 12,200 square metres and involved investment of R$ 85 million (US$ 49 million) in infrastructure to supply an annual demand of 5.5 million passengers. With this, the airport’s total capacity rose from 25.9 million to 31.4 million passengers a year. Apart from basic services for users, including areas for check-in, bathrooms, conveyor belts for baggage claim and snack bars, it also has a parking lot with 790 parking slots.
Those boarding at Terminal 4, from Terminal 1 or 2, may use the transport provided by Webjet. Through electronic panels on the route to the airport and from signs at terminals 1 and 3, passengers are informed of the changes. Users may also call ask Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero) employees for information. They may be identified by their yellow coats with the sentence “Posso ajudar?/May I help you?” on them.
