São Paulo – The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX-Brasil) released this Friday (1st) the balance of deals closed by Brazilian companies during Gulfood, show that occurred in Dubai, UAE. In the event, the 79 companies exhibiting in the space organized by agency generated over USD 1.451 billion, including what is going to be finished in the next 12 months.
This year value surpasses by USD 10 million the Brazilian participation in 2018, when the agency took 95 companies to Dubai – 16 more than in 2019. According to APEX, this year’s strategy was to focus on companies with great exporting potential, hence the reduce numbers of participations.
Brazil’s result came mainly from the meat sector, which was over USD 988 million. It is followed by grains and processed foods, which surpassed USD 236 million. The beverage sector registered USD 3.75 million. According to APEX, this year’s result reinforces the perception of Brazilian products quality in the region.
The figure does not include deals closed by Brazilian companies that participated in the space organized by Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce nor the ones with individual, separate stands in the show.
