São Paulo – Brazilian aeroplane maker Embraer announced today (02) the sale of six ERJ 145 aircraft to China Southern Airlines. The aeroplanes, for up to 50 passengers, will be produced by Harbin Embraer, a joint venture between the Brazilian company and China Aviation II. Delivery is scheduled for between June this year and January 2005.
The model produced in China is the same as the one produced by Embraer in São José dos Campos, in the countryside of the southeastern state of São Paulo. According to company information, China Southern Airlines has been the largest Chinese airline for 23 years, and one of its subsidiaries, Sichuan Airlines, already uses five regional ERJ 145 family jets.
