São Paulo – Harvard University is offering online free courses on the Arab culture. There are two on Islamism (one of them is part of a broader course on religions) and one on the Egyptian pyramids. The content of these classes are available in English.
To view the classes, the user must register in the distance learning platform EdX’s website, which offers free content from many universities across the world and in many different languages.
Besides Harvard, EdX offers many free materials on the Arab culture, made available by other universities across the world. Among them, American university Notre Dame, for instance, offers the course Introduction to the Quran: The Scripture of Islam; meanwhile, Egyptian Bibliotheca Alexandrina offers the courses Ancient Egyptian Civilization, The Legacy of Islamic Civilization and The Journey of Writing and Scripts in Egypt.
Amnesty International offers the free course Human Rights: The Rights of Refugees – available in English, French and Spanish, among other relevant courses on Human Rights; and The Islamic Research and Training Institute offers free courses on Islamic Economy.
