São Paulo – Rodo Linea, a maker of highway implements owned by the Hübner group and based in the southern Brazilian city of Curitiba, capital of the state of Paraná, is going to invest 23 million reais (US$ 13 million) in 2008. The funds will be deployed in the development new products and premises.
Of the total, 10 million reais (US$ 5.6 million) will be used for building a new branch in the city of Campinas, in the interior of the southeastern Brazilian state of São Paulo, and another 10 million reais (US$ 5.6 million) will be spent on expanding and modernizing the current plant. The remaining 3 million reais (US$ 1.7 million) will be invested on developing new products. Funding should come from the company itself and from banks.
The company should close this year with sales of 1,200 units, which corresponds to a 2.5% share of the Brazilian market. Next year, the company is expected to reach 2,000 units and a 4% market share. This year, exports are going to answer to 5% of production, and next year they should account for 20%.
Rodo Linea should end the year with revenues of around 58 million reais (US$ 32.9 million). For 2008, the trend of strong growth should be retained, with expected revenues of approximately 95 million reais (US$ 53.9 million).
