São Paulo – Ikko Home Design, a company that manufactures creative and exclusive household appliances, started investing in internationalising its brand approximately one year ago, and is interested in obtaining a distributor in the Arab market. “We do not possess much knowledge of the opportunities in the region yet, but we are willing to negotiate with an importer that is able to supply the entire Middle East,” says the marketing manager at Ikko, Faten Siviero.
Participation in sector fairs in the United States, Germany and Mexico resulted in initial exports to Japan, the opening of a representation office in Portugal and the signing of a contract with a distributor in Canada.
“We closed two small sales to Japan last year. Now that we have reformulated our packaging, whose appearance is more in keeping with the quality of our products, we want to resume our contact with the importer,” says the manager. Furthermore, we want to take advantage of the strategic location of the office in Portugal to open up new distribution opportunities in the other countries in the European Union,” she explains.
Design, vivid colours and quality manufacturing are the main features of Ikko, whose collection comprises over 20 products, many of them created by famous designers such as the Italian Luciano Devià and the Brazilian Guto Lacaz. "More and more, consumers are demanding and choosing products with differentiated design. The Ikko line is completely in line with that context," says Faten.
According to her, the company offers creative ideas and design, resulting in functional utensils, at the same time decorating the household. "Our Brazilian style incorporates important characteristics of our people. Colour, joy and motion are some of them. Our products feature lots of irreverence and informality, be it at the office, when receiving friends at home or when giving presents to someone," she says.
The group
Ikko is part of the GS Plásticos group. On the market for almost 30 years, the group designs and manufactures gifts for promotional campaigns by large companies such as Coca-Cola, Kraft, Nestlé and Pão de Açúcar. According to Faten, for the latest Coca-Cola campaign, for example, 3 million silicon strings were manufactured. The group employs 125 people.
